Chrysalis, the Association of Former UNICEF Staff Members in Sri Lanka, was formed in 2004 in order to provide assistance to some of Sri Lanka's most disadvantaged children.
Chrysalis draws upon its members' unparalleled expertise and continuing dedication to the health, welfare and rights of children in the community to carry out our varied activities across the island.
From its inception Chrysalis has been fortunate to receive generous assistance and financial support from many friends from virtually every corner of the globe. Together we will continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of many less fortunate children in Sri Lanka, helping them to reach their full potential.
An all volunteer organisation, with no paid staff or administrative costs (members pay all expenses out of pocket) we remain committed to spending all funds raised directly on programmes, to regularly monitoring the use of funds, to providing complete transparency to donors and to making commitments for the long-term.
In partnership with our donors, we have provided a wide range of aid and assistance, from resettlement supplies for survivors of the December 2004 tsunami to our on-going projects with local schools, orphanages, youth centres and individual families in need. Please review our Projects Section for more details.
To our many friends and supporters we offer our thanks and best wishes from us all at Chrysalis.
